TKATSafeguarding Conference 2025

Â鶹ÃÛÌÒmvÔÚÏß¹Û¿´'s Safeguarding Team hosted its 2025 conference at the Atkins Centre, Sidcup last week. Colleagues from across the Trust attended to learn more about the key focus area -  Self Harm.

Two keynote speakers both shared powerful personal stories; Satveer Nijjar held an informative CPD session on Self Harm and the room was captivated with her knowledge, personal experience and delivery of such a sensitive topic.

Michelle West from the Sam West Foundation (who has been supporting TKATsince 2019), spoke about how the Foundation came to be set up with the tragic loss of her son through suicide, and the work her family do to raise awareness and support education settings. Michelle also gave every delegate a book written by her son Ben called 'This Book Could Save Your Life'.

The conference concluded with attendees having their voice heard, which will support the Safeguarding Team formatting a toolkit and guidance on Self Harm to support all of our TKATSchools.

Feedback from the event was very positive, with delegates leaving more informed about this area of safeguarding and ready to cascade this knowledge in their schools.

Thanks to everyone involved in making the day a success, especially  who supported the event. Innovate is one of our school caterers, who are supporting our priority to ensure all our pupils have access to a nutritious school lunch.
