TKATACE (A Champion for Every Child) secures funding from The National Lottery to support work in London
We are delighted to announce that TKATACE (A Champion for Every Child) has secured funding from The National Lottery to support our work in London.
As part of Propel NDYP (New Deal for Young People), we will receive almost £230,000 over the next year to enhance students' education through exceptional school-based mentoring. TKATACE is a unique and innovative pastoral mentoring programme that provides dedicated and specially trained one-on-one mentors for disadvantaged pupils and their families, supporting our mission as a Trust.
Our mentors will assist pupils in overcoming barriers to their academic progress as well as their social and emotional development.
TKATACE aims to deliver long-term success in 10 TKATLondon schools, providing weekly school-based mentoring to approximately 750 TKATpupils aged 10 to 18. Additionally, we will collaborate with five non-TKATLondon schools to help them develop their own mentoring programmes.
We intend to use the outputs and lessons learned from both the TKATACE programme and the additional schools to demonstrate to a wider range of London schools the potential benefits of a school-based mentoring programme that utilizes largely existing school resources.
This is an exciting time for TKATand the TKATACE programme as it advances to another level.
